The Laborers with Christ Window - Sanctuary
![]() |
The Laborers with Christ window was given to the church in 1947 in memory of Elmer H. Larue who gave his life in the service of his country.
Matthew 11:28 serves as the setting of the window: "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
The head of Christ is backed by a setting sun against which is visible three arms of a cross. Jesus, the carpenter, is the great laborer whose master work is finally accomplished on Calvary's cross.
The laborers with Christ, starting at the top and going clockwise, are:
John the Baptist representing reformers
Adoniram Judson representing missionaries
Peter helping feed the thousands representing humanitarians
A woman in prayer representing peacemakers
A child picking flowers representing lovers of beauty
Luke, the Gospel writer, representing physicians
Parents dedicating a child representing homemakers
Paul teaching representing teachers
