We have begun an ambitious renovation effort within
The First Baptist Church of La Grange!

In July, our Executive Committee made a motion to our church membership seeking the approval of an $80,000 plan to renovate the nearly seven-decade-old lower level restrooms, including related asbestos abatement in that area and within the early childhood preschool room and all stairs leading up to the church sanctuary.  Because asbestos removal requires a very expensive permit for any sized project, the decision was also made to proceed further and install new carpeting in the chapel; the area between fellowship hall and church sanctuary; and the entire church sanctuary including the steps at the Ashland office entrance and Ashland and Bell entrance.  Carpeting has been removed in the chancel/pulpit area and replaced with sturdy flooring so that this area is more functional for larger choirs, recitals, group gatherings and community events.
 
Currently, the church is abuzz with the renovation! A refreshed new look with modern upgrades will help as we move through the year in a process with our Pastor defining our goals and mission as a church in La Grange.  We believe First Baptist Church is a large facility that can lend itself to continued current and new service in our surrounding communities.
