Reverands Shawana and Maurice McGee have been leading the Caring Place Foundation since its inception in the 1990's and have been supporting those in need ever since.
They shepard special needs children and their families, while also providing meals and the Hope of Christ for the homeless, and supporting others in their time of need in so many of meaningful ways. Typically, meals for the homeless and special needs in the community are hosted monthly. God's message of hope and salvation is shared each month while the Caring Place volunteers serve as God's hands and feet in serving meals and often providing transportation from the meal.
Those who volunteer with Caring Place, particularly the children, are taught the importance of serving and leading.
The community Thanksgiving dinner hosted by Caring Place in 2019 was covered by the Chicago Tribune. www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/la-grange/ct-dlg-caring-place-homeless-tl-0103-story.html |
