What to Expect on Sundays

Our Sanctuary - Where we gather for worship. 

10:00 a.m.  Sunday School
11:00 a.m. Worship
followed by Fellowship & Coffee or Meal time

When you enter the church, most pathways will bring you to the back of the sanctuary with a view of the sanctuary like the one on this page.  You may sit wherever you like and someone, perhaps the usher or a member of the congregation, will certainly be there to welcome you.  You'll be given a copy of the bulletin, which provides a bit of information about the church and provides a schedule of worship for that Sunday.  Below the pew in front of you will be a Bible to refer to if you like and a copy of a hymnal (a song book) will be in the pocket in front of you.  The numbers next to the hymn titles in the bulletin matches the number for the song in the hymnal.

The format of our worship service can change from time to time; however, usually it will go something like this:

• Welcome from the Pastor 
• Responsive Reading in the bulletin (the congregation reads the words in bold)
• Music
• Prayer led by the Pastor
• Offering time (there are envelopes in the pews if you want to use them for your offering)
• Singing of the Doxology (a traditional hymn of thanks--a copy of the words is in the cover of the hymnal)
• Altar prayer or prayer of thanksgiving for the offerings--you can go to the front of the sanctuary or stay in your seat
• Hymn sung by the congregation or recorded music
• Reading from the bible
• The Pastor's Message (usually about 20 - 30 minutes)
• The Benediction (a brief closing prayer)

Parking
A relatively small church parking lot is on south side (back) of the building.  Enter the one-way parking lot from Catherine Avenue.  Free stree parking is plentiful and is closer to the doors to the sanctuary along the streets around the church including Catherine, Ashland and Bell Avenues.

Sanctuary
For entrance into the Sanctuary, the doors on either Bell Ave. (north) or Ashland Ave. (northeast)  will be the easiest points of entry.

​Chapel & Fellowship Hall
For entrance into the Chapel or Fellowship Hall, we recommend the the red double doors on the Bell Ave. side (north side) of the building.

​Office
The entrance to the Church Office is on the Ashland Ave. side to the right off of  the parking lot (southeast corner of the building).

​Kitchen
The back entrance into the Kitchen may be accessed through the door on the parking lot side of the building, although it may only be open at certain times.
